Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American TV chef personality. Burrell was also an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef at the Food Network. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature spiky blond locks and pumped up personality, explains simple techniques that anybody can learn. Burrell is a chef who has been in the kitchen for a long time. Burrell is also a seasoned veteran of New York City's best restaurants. Additionally, she has studied Italy's culinary tradition and the culture of Italy, along with the natural environment. Burrell, who grew up in New York State's Upstate, developed an early passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was where she studied following her graduation with an English diploma and Communications certificate in Canisius College Buffalo NY. Following graduation, Chef Burrell went on to spend one year in Italy taking classes at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working for La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. While in Italy, she developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian food and culture. It is a huge influence on how Burrell prepares her food. Burrell participates on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of struggling children. Additionally, she is an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate, where she promotes awareness of the condition of children with diabetes. She travels frequently around the country in her role as a mentor as well as a an invited speaker, where she talks about her career and love of cooking. Anne always felt fortunate that she was able to share her passion of her life, and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
